Meet Dr. Kelly McIntosh

“I didn’t know what a Chiropractor did…or that a woman could be a Chiropractor”.

Dr. Kelly McIntoshSince a young age, I intended on being a healthcare professional. In university, I studied with the intent of entering the medical field, until I met a chiropractor by the name of Dr. Paula. With constant headaches and chronic back pain from studying, Dr. Paula introduced me to Chiropractic care and I never looked back. I was astounded and amazed at her ability to help people without drugs or surgery. Not only did she relieve my back pain, but she also inspired me to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Upon graduating from the University of Windsor with Honours Biochemistry, I was accepted to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in 2000. CMCC is the only English-speaking Chiropractic institution in Canada, and world renowned for their cutting-edge research. After 4 challenging years, combined with a 1-year internship in Toronto, I graduated Cum Laude in 2004. But the education didn’t stop there! I continued to pursue formal training in neuro-anatomical acupuncture, and pregnancy & chiropractic care and more recently, Spinal Decompression Therapy. I also became a certified personal training specialist through Can-Fit-Pro.

At the Gravenhurst and Port Carling Chiropractic and Acupuncture Centres, we seek to relieve pain and discomfort, restore function, and promote overall wellness. After a thorough health history and focused physical exam, we determine the cause of your pain and discomfort and formulate a diagnosis. Based on your needs, a treatment plan is tailored specifically for you. With a special interest in female care, I use techniques such as spinal manipulation, mobilizations, acupuncture, spinal decompression and a range of modalities such as ultrasound, and interferential current.

I participate in several local community groups – Just 4 Kicks Academy of Dance, Muskoka Fitness, and the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Muskoka. Music is also an important part of my life. Trained in the Royal Conservatory of Music in piano, I completed my Grade 10 designation and continue to play as a hobby.

I find it essential for my well-being to receive weekly chiropractic care – so that I can function at my best to help you!

Enough about me! How can we help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care? I look forward to the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenge. Give our office a call or email us at the link below and let’s arrange a time to explore your options.
